Li Auto has produced its 200,000th Li i6 battery electric SUV as deliveries of the updated model begin in China, with the automaker increasing production capacity to reduce customer waiting times.
Li Xinyang, head of the Li i6 product line, announced the production milestone on Weibo on Friday. It comes approximately 13 months after the five-seat electric SUV first went on sale in September 2025.
Deliveries of the 2026 Li i6 began across China on October 29, according to Li. The company said it had prepared vehicles for near-term delivery ahead of the launch and was accelerating production to meet demand.
Current waiting times for new orders stand at seven to eight weeks. Customers placing orders now are expected to receive their vehicles before the end of 2026, Li said.
Under the company’s production plan, monthly Li i6 capacity is expected to reach 20,000 units in November and increase further in December.
Updated Model Follows Decline in Monthly Deliveries
The production milestone follows a decline in monthly deliveries of the Li i6 ahead of its latest update.
The model recorded 7,379 deliveries in September, down 56.54% from August and accounting for 23.19% of Li Auto’s total deliveries that month, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
During the first nine months of 2026, Li Auto delivered 160,221 Li i6 units. Cumulative deliveries since the model’s launch reached 189,192 by the end of September.
The 200,000-unit milestone announced by the company refers to cumulative production, rather than customer deliveries.
The 2026 Li i6 was launched on October 28, with its official starting price unchanged at 249,800 yuan ($37,210). The update includes changes to the vehicle’s driver-assistance hardware, battery and cabin features.
Customers purchasing the SUV on or before November 30 can receive introductory incentives that reduce the price to 239,800 yuan, a discount of 10,000 yuan from the official retail price.
Battery and Driver-Assistance Upgrades
The updated Li i6 comes standard with Li Auto’s internally developed Mach M100 driver-assistance chip and a 96-kWh Lianshan 5C lithium iron phosphate battery.
The rear-wheel-drive version offers a CLTC-rated driving range of up to 780 kilometers (485 miles), an increase over the previous model.
The production ramp-up and updated specifications are expected to be important factors in the model’s performance as Li Auto continues expanding its battery electric vehicle business.
European Launch Planned for 2027
The Li i6 is also part of Li Auto’s planned expansion into Europe. The company announced on October 12 that the SUV, which will be marketed as the Li 6, is scheduled to go on sale and begin deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2027.
Separately, Li said cumulative production of the company’s Li L6 extended-range electric SUV had reached 420,000 units. The model had also ranked as the best-selling vehicle among extended-range models for two consecutive months, according to the company.
