The French car manufacturer, Renault launched an electric concept SUV with a combination of hydrogen fuel, the Scenic Vision.

Previously, the Scenic was a Renault MPV. However, they turned it into a crossover called Scenic Vision. In addition, this car transforms into an electric vehicle.

Scenic Vision is also the embodiment of Renault’s transformation into an environmentally friendly and technology-oriented company. This of course covers climate challenges, resource conservation, user safety and health.

“With this we are opening a new chapter in the development of our vehicles, from design to end-of-life, in an environmentally friendly way,” said Clea Martinet, Vice President of the Renault Sustainability Group.

Unlike its rivals, the Scenic Vision has a range extender by adding a hydrogen fuel cell device located under the floor along with the battery pack. The manufacturer claims that this battery does not add too much load and can maximize mileage.

The Renault Scenic Vision is built with 70 percent recycled materials, while the battery is 95 percent recyclable. Compared to other electric cars, this concept car has a 75 percent smaller carbon footprint.

Construction is also environmentally focused as the fuel cell tank is made from carbon fiber from recycled waste paper. Then, there is no leather in the cabin and replace it with low carbon polyester made from recycled.

Talking about weight, this crossover weighs around 1,700 kg. Later, the mass production version will be built on the same CMF-EV platform as the Renault Megane E-Tech and its brother Nissan Ariya.

Talking about performance, this car is powered by a 160 kW electric motor, equivalent to 215 hp. The electric motor is powered by a 40 Kwh battery pack and a 16 kW hydrogen fuel cell. The manufacturer claims this car drove up to 500 miles or the equivalent of 800 km. If you want Scenic Vision, the manufacturer will start production in 2024.
