Denza, the premium automotive brand owned by Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD, has confirmed UK pricing for its flagship Z9 GT, opening customer orders ahead of deliveries planned for the fourth quarter.
The company said the plug-in hybrid Z9 GT equipped with its Super DM powertrain will start at £95,000 in the UK, while the fully electric version has been priced from £105,000, positioning the model in the premium performance segment.

The launch marks the next phase of Denza’s European expansion after the brand made its regional debut in Paris in April. At that event, BYD announced plans to establish Denza as a higher-end marque above its core passenger vehicle lineup, with the Z9 GT leading the rollout before additional models, including the D9 plug-in hybrid MPV, join the portfolio.
European Expansion Continues
The Z9 GT is being introduced through newly established Denza retail locations in the UK, France and Germany, while Italy and Spain remain part of the brand’s broader European expansion plans.
The battery-electric version sold in the UK is powered by a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 1,210Nm of torque. Denza said the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds, reach a top speed of 167 mph, and travel up to 373 miles under the WLTP testing standard using its 122kWh battery.

Alongside the electric model, Denza is also offering a Super DM plug-in hybrid variant that combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with three electric motors. According to the company, the model provides up to 126 miles of electric-only WLTP driving range and a combined range of as much as 500 miles with a full battery and fuel tank. It is rated to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds.
Advanced Chassis and Charging Technology
The Z9 GT also introduces several technologies aimed at improving handling and maneuverability. These include a dual-chamber air suspension system linked with Vehicle Motion Control, enabling communication between the suspension, braking and steering systems with signal transmission times as low as 10 milliseconds.
The vehicle is also equipped with rear-wheel steering that allows multiple driving functions designed to improve agility in confined spaces.
“This allows the Z9 GT to perform manoeuvres such as crab walking at up to 8.5 degrees, a 360° compass turn, and deliver a turning radius of just 5.35m – as little as many superminis.”
Denza added that its parking assistance system can automatically detect a suitable parking space and reverse into it, either with the driver inside the vehicle or through a smartphone application.

The UK introduction of the Z9 GT will also bring BYD’s Flash Charging technology to the market for the first time. The company said the system supports charging speeds of up to 1,500kW, allowing the battery to recharge from 10% to 70% in around five minutes, or from 10% to 97% in approximately nine minutes.
According to Denza, the latter charging session can provide up to 323 miles of WLTP driving range, highlighting the company’s focus on reducing charging times as competition intensifies in the premium electric vehicle market.
