Kia UK has confirmed that all Long Range variants of the Kia EV2 are now eligible for the UK’s maximum Band 1 Electric Car Grant (ECG), reducing the vehicle’s on-the-road price by £3,750.
The incentive applies to every EV2 model equipped with the 61kWh Long Range battery, including the Air, GT-Line and GT-Line S variants.
Lower Purchase Prices
With the government grant applied, the EV2 Long Range lineup is now priced as follows:
- EV2 Air Long Range: £24,245
- EV2 GT-Line Long Range: £28,995
- EV2 GT-Line S Long Range: £32,595
According to Kia, the eligible models offer a driving range of up to 275 miles on a single charge while maintaining high levels of standard equipment.
The company noted that the Electric Car Grant is available only to battery-electric vehicles that meet government requirements covering emissions, driving range, sustainability and warranty support.
Expansion of Grant Eligibility
The EV2 Long Range joins the EV2 First Edition, which qualified for the government’s Band 2 Electric Car Grant in April 2026, providing a £1,500 purchase incentive.
With the latest update, Kia said 13 of its electric vehicles across the EV2, EV3, EV4 and Passenger vehicle ranges now qualify for the UK incentive program.
The new government grant replaces Kia’s previous EV2 Reservation Saving promotion, under which customers received a £1,500 manufacturer discount on the model.
