CATL has signed its first customer outside China for its Bedrock electric vehicle chassis platform through a partnership with Turkish automaker Togg.
Under the agreement, Togg will use the Bedrock Chassis platform to develop a new family of B-segment electric vehicles intended for Turkey and Europe.

CATL introduced the Bedrock Chassis in late 2024 as an integrated electric vehicle platform based on its Cell-to-Chassis technology, which incorporates battery cells directly into the vehicle structure.
The company said the chassis was engineered with a high-strength safety architecture capable of absorbing up to 85% of collision energy, compared with roughly 60% in conventional chassis systems.
According to CATL, the platform is designed to withstand impacts at speeds of up to 120 kilometres per hour without triggering fire or explosion.

The Bedrock Chassis integrates the battery system, electric drivetrain, thermal management and chassis control systems into a single structure intended to manage both vehicle motion and energy functions.
As part of the partnership, CATL subsidiary CAIT will work with Togg on platform engineering and technical development for three upcoming B-segment vehicle models.
The future vehicles are expected to compete in the same size category as models including the Volkswagen ID. Polo and Renault 5 E-Tech.
The first production model developed under the collaboration is expected to enter series production in 2027.

“This collaboration represents another important milestone in the global expansion of the CATL Bedrock Chassis following its mass production rollout in the Chinese market,” Robin Zeng, CEO of CATL, said in a statement.
“It will also serve as a benchmark project in the field of integrated intelligent chassis, strengthening our global partnerships, accelerating electrification and supporting the transition to low-carbon mobility in emerging new energy markets,” Zeng added.
Fuat Tosyalı, CEO of Togg, said the Turkish automaker would participate directly in the development process rather than simply adopting an existing platform.

“Rather than adopting a ready-made solution, we are becoming part of the entire development process, responding more effectively to user needs while also contributing to the development of this ecosystem in our country,” Tosyalı said.
“In the period ahead, through such value-creating partnerships, we will further enrich the Togg ecosystem and the experience we offer our users by developing new solutions across different segments,” he added.
Togg began selling vehicles in Germany in 2025, while CATL already supplies batteries to several European automakers and operates a battery cell factory in Thuringia, Germany.
