Australian logistics and retail company Winning Group plans to deploy 30 electric trucks across Sydney and Melbourne through a partnership with fleet electrification specialist Zenobe, with financial backing from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.
The initiative forms part of Zenobe’s broader expansion strategy in Australia. In March, the UK-based company announced plans to invest A$100 million in the country’s electric truck sector, aiming to help more than double the number of electric trucks operating in Australia by the end of 2026.

Zenobe said the investment would support vehicle procurement, charging infrastructure, battery replacement services and fleet deployment planning.
Under the new agreement, Winning Group will adopt Zenobe’s “Electric Vehicle as a Service” model, which combines electric trucks, charging infrastructure and operational support within a single service package.
The rollout will initially cover two major logistics sites.
At the company’s Kemps Creek facility in New South Wales, Winning Group plans to deploy ten Foton T5 4.5-tonne electric trucks using existing charging infrastructure.

A further 20 electric trucks are planned for deployment at the company’s Altona site in Victoria. Zenobe said final specifications for those vehicles have not yet been confirmed, although the trucks are expected to be in the 8.5-tonne category.
The company will also design and build dedicated charging infrastructure for the Altona fleet.
“This is about more than just electrifying vehicles – it’s about rethinking how we deliver into Australian homes,” Harry Boileau, general manager of Winning Services, said in a statement.
“By working together across the entire supply chain, we can reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and continue delivering on our mission to create the best experiences in the world, for the world,” Boileau added.

Gareth Ridge, Zenobe’s country director for Australia and New Zealand, said the project demonstrated how electric fleet deployments could expand across different industries.
“By combining vehicles, charging infrastructure and ongoing support into a single service, we’re helping partners like Winnings transition with confidence while reducing both cost and risk,” Ridge said.
ARENA said the project would help assess the performance and scalability of electric freight operations under real-world conditions.
“ARENA’s role is to help de-risk first-of-a-kind projects like this and ensure the lessons are shared,” Darren Miller, chief executive of ARENA, said in a statement.

“The insights from this project on costs, performance, charging and operations will help other freight operators make informed decisions,” Miller added.
The latest deployment follows Zenobe’s opening of Sydney’s first off-site truck charging hub last year, where retailer Woolworths became the primary tenant.
