French energy company TotalEnergies has installed electric vehicle charge points across 80 locations in the London borough of Camden, expanding its urban charging network as part of broader electrification efforts.
The newly deployed chargers range in capacity from 22 kW to 100 kW, including 18 rapid charge points at the higher power level. TotalEnergies said all units will be powered بالكامل by renewable energy, though it did not specify whether the installations are located on-street or within public parking facilities.
The addition brings TotalEnergies’ total number of charge points in London to around 3,000, including approximately 500 dedicated charging bays in Camden. Charging prices in the borough start at 43 pence per kilowatt-hour, according to the company.
Adam Harrison, a councillor at Camden Borough Council, said the expansion supports the borough’s environmental objectives. “The new rapid charge points installed by TotalEnergies will help Camden achieve our Net Zero targets, in line with Camden’s Climate Action Plan, with attractive pricing and a reliable network supporting the charging needs for thousands of people in the borough,” he said.
Nicolas Garnier said the rollout is designed to serve a broad range of users. “We are delighted to continue supporting the uptake of EVs in Camden with these additional 80 sites, providing a wide range of power options from 22 to 100 kW,” he said. “Whether it is for private hire drivers, fleet drivers or Camden residents, TotalEnergies ensures seamless and convenient charging options across Camden.”
The expansion comes as TotalEnergies reviews its charging operations in Germany, where the company is reportedly exploring options for its network of around 190 charging parks, according to media reports. The portfolio includes both operational and planned sites, some supported by government subsidies.
