Indian electric vehicle startup Simple Energy has unveiled what it says is the longest-range electric scooter in the country, introducing the Simple Ultra alongside a series of upgrades to its existing Simple OneS and Simple One models, as the company looks to strengthen its position ahead of a planned public listing.
The Bengaluru-based company said the Simple Ultra is equipped with a 6.5 kilowatt-hour battery, the largest fitted to an electric scooter in India, delivering an IDC-certified range of up to 400 kilometres. The model is positioned at the top of Simple Energy’s lineup and targets customers prioritising long range and higher performance.

Simple Energy has not disclosed the motor’s peak output for the Simple Ultra but said the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kilometres per hour in 2.77 seconds and reach a top speed of 115 kph, making it one of the fastest electric scooters available in the Indian market.
The launch also included updates to the Simple OneS and Simple One scooters, which the company said now offer improved performance, additional features and reduced weight. The upgraded models are up to 8 kg lighter, feature a lower seat height of 780 mm and offer under-seat storage of 35 litres. New additions include traction control and cruise control on both models, while the Simple One also gains four levels of regenerative braking.

The Simple One is offered in standard-range and long-range versions, with battery capacities of 4.5 kWh and 5 kWh, respectively. The long-range variant accelerates from 0 to 40 kph in 2.55 seconds and has a top speed of 115 kph, after the company increased motor peak power to 8.8 kW while retaining peak torque of 72 Nm.
