Wuling Hong Guang MINI EV sales expanded 30.7% year-over-year in Q1 2022

Wuling Hong Guang MINI EV still dominates the electric vehicle market in China even though there are several new competitors present in the same vehicle segment.

During the first quarter of 2022 Wuling Hong Guang MINI EV sold 94,778 units. This number increased by 30.7% compared to the same quarter last year.

This number is above other electric vehicles such as the Tesla Model Y which sold 74,681 and more than 75,000 BYD Qin for the BEV and PHEV vehicle types.

As a reference, in 2021, Wuling Hong Guang MINI EV sold 395,451 units in China. The number is up 250.7% year-over-year.

In total, for 22 months there have been more than 600,000 Wuling Hong Guang MINI EVs sold in China since June 2020. It was a huge success for the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture (between SAIC, GM and Liuzhou Wuling Motors).
