Nio has surpassed 90 million cumulative battery swap services, reaching the milestone at 10:53 p.m. Beijing time on October 26, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer said.
The company achieved this figure just 100 days after completing its 80 millionth swap, reflecting the accelerating pace of its energy service operations.

Nio said it now conducts more than 100,000 battery swaps per day, with the 100 millionth service expected around January 2026. Cumulative electricity delivered through its swap network has reached 4.75 billion kWh—enough to power over 2.37 million households for a year, according to company data.
Since opening its first battery swap station in Shenzhen on May 20, 2018, Nio has steadily expanded its infrastructure across China. The company reached 10 million swaps by July 2022, four years after launch, and has since seen rapid growth. It completed its 50 millionth swap in August 2024 and its 80 millionth in July 2025, with each milestone arriving faster than the last.

As of now, Nio operates 3,539 battery swap stations and 4,770 charging stations across China. The network supports both the Nio main brand and its Onvo sub-brand, while its Firefly sub-brand’s first model has yet to adopt the battery swap system.
The company said the growing owner base and continued station expansion will further accelerate the adoption of battery swapping as a key component of its smart energy ecosystem.
