Chinese autonomous driving company Pony.ai has reached a new production milestone, rolling out its 300th ARCFOX Alpha T5 Robotaxi built in partnership with Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. (BAIC Group), as it moves toward scaling its driverless fleet globally.
The company began mass production of the ARCFOX Alpha T5, equipped with its seventh-generation (Gen-7) autonomous driving platform, in July 2025. The vehicle is designed for continuous, all-weather operation and integrates key cost and safety enhancements to enable broader commercial deployment.

Pony.ai said its Gen-7 system reduces production costs by about 70% through integration of automotive-grade components directly on the factory line, a move aimed at making Level 4 (L4) autonomy more economically viable. Built on BAIC’s fully redundant chassis, the vehicle also incorporates multiple safety layers backed by more than 55 million kilometres of testing.
“Our latest milestone demonstrates real progress toward safe, scalable autonomous mobility,” said Dr. James Peng, Pony.ai’s founder and CEO, during the ceremony marking the 300th unit’s completion.

The company plans to expand its robotaxi services across major Chinese cities including Beijing and Shenzhen while preparing for entry into international markets such as the Middle East and Europe. Pony.ai expects to grow its combined fleet to 1,000 vehicles and reach unit economic break-even by the end of 2025.
