BYD marked a milestone for its European operations as its 1,000th electric bus rolled off the production line at its Hungarian factory on September 26, the company said on Friday.
The vehicle, a B12.b model customized for the German market, features BYD’s Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) technology, integrating blade batteries directly into the chassis. The milestone underscores the company’s commitment to expanding sustainable public transportation in Europe.
BYD announced plans to expand the factory with an additional 29,000 square meters of production facilities, aimed at increasing annual output of electric buses and trucks. Once the expansion is completed, the plant’s annual capacity is expected to exceed 1,000 units.
The company has positioned its Hungarian factory as a key hub for commercial electric vehicles in Europe, supporting growing demand for zero-emission public transport solutions across the continent.
