EVgo Inc., a U.S.-based operator of public fast-charging networks for electric vehicles, has been included in Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Companies 2025 list, which ranks 650 companies across various industries for overall business performance.
The company received a 4.5 out of 5 rating in the assessment, which was conducted by Newsweek in collaboration with the research firm Plant-A Insights Group. The ranking evaluated public data, employee feedback and more than 120 performance indicators across workforce strength, technological innovation, financial performance and operational sustainability.
EVgo reported $257 million in revenue for 2024, up 60% from the previous year, and has expanded partnerships with automakers including General Motors and Toyota, as well as with retail operators such as Meijer and Regency Centers. “It’s a testament to our position as a leading infrastructure provider and our progress in shaping the future of mobility for American drivers who choose electric,” said EVgo Chief Executive Badar Khan.
In 2024, EVgo said it exceeded 2,000 charging stalls installed under its agreement with General Motors and committed to new flagship charging locations in states including Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York and Texas. The company has also worked with Toyota on programs such as Toyota Empact to support EV adoption.
EVgo has developed a next-generation charging architecture that includes ultra-fast chargers with extended cable lengths and advanced power-sharing capabilities. These are tested at its Innovation Lab, where the company conducts interoperability trials with various vehicle models and charging technologies.
The company currently operates more than 1,100 fast-charging stations in over 40 U.S. states, partnering with retailers, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping centers, gas stations, rideshare operators and autonomous vehicle companies to expand access.
