Tesla has disclosed new range figures for its upcoming electric vehicles in China, with a regulatory filing showing a Model 3 variant capable of up to 830 kilometers on the CLTC test cycle and the first official range data for the six-seat Model Y L.
The information comes from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), which listed the two models in its latest batch of new energy vehicles eligible for purchase tax exemptions. The Model 3 variant, coded TSL7000BEVBR1, has a curb weight of 1,760 kg and is equipped with a 78.4 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery supplied by LG Energy Solution. The single-motor setup delivers a peak output of 225 kW, higher than the 194 kW of the current single-motor Model 3. The variant appears in filings with “Model 3+” badging and offers either 800 km or 830 km of range, depending on configuration.

Currently, the longest-range Model 3 available in China is rated at 753 km CLTC. Tesla’s entry-level rear-wheel drive version, long-range all-wheel drive, and performance all-wheel drive models have ranges of 634 km, 753 km, and 623 km, respectively. The rear-wheel drive model uses CATL lithium iron phosphate batteries, while the others use LG Energy Solution ternary packs.
The Model Y L, coded TSL6500BEVBA0, features an 82.0 kWh ternary battery also supplied by LG Energy Solution, with an energy density of 176 Wh/kg. The dual-motor setup produces 142 kW at the front and 198 kW at the rear, delivering a CLTC range of 751 km. The model, which Tesla has said will launch in China this fall, will offer a six-seat configuration — a first for the Model Y lineup in the market.

Tesla currently sells the five-seat Model Y in China in rear-wheel drive and long-range all-wheel drive versions, starting at RMB 263,500 ($36,680) and RMB 313,500, respectively. The new filings suggest both the extended-range Model 3 and the larger-capacity Model Y L are positioned to expand Tesla’s premium EV offerings in China later this year.
