ABB E-mobility unveiled three new DC charging systems aimed at broadening its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure offerings, including megawatt charging for heavy-duty trucks, depot systems for fleet operations, and modular high-power chargers for passenger vehicles. The company introduced the new chargers at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim and will showcase them next at Power2Drive in Munich.
The expansion builds on ABB’s existing A400 and C50 systems, with the launch of two new models in the A-Series – the A200 and A300 – providing 200 kW and 300 kW charging capacities, respectively. Like the A400, the new variants share a modular, all-in-one architecture that includes power electronics, control units, and cooling systems within a single enclosure.

“This approach offers scalability and protects customer investment, leading to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings over 10 years,” ABB stated. The company said the modular setup allows customers to expand capacity onsite without replacing existing units.
For fleet and depot environments, ABB introduced the ChargeDock Dispenser, which integrates with the company’s HVC 360 system. Capable of supporting both cabled and pantograph configurations, ChargeDock can be installed up to 150 metres from the power cabinet, enabling deployment across large depot sites.
In the heavy-vehicle segment, ABB revealed the MCS1200, a Megawatt Charging System developed through collaboration with commercial truck manufacturers. The system delivers a continuous output of up to 1,200 kW via a single MCS cable. Dual-cable versions will also be available, supporting combinations of MCS and CCS, or dual CCS connectors, to meet evolving battery demands in electric trucking.

“The EV charging landscape is evolving beyond point products for specific use cases — we’re building platforms that deliver consistent usability, reliability and scalability across the entire charging ecosystem,” said Michael Halbherr, CEO of ABB E-mobility. “By implementing this modular approach with the majority of our R&D focused on modular platforms rather than one-off products, we’ve created a charging portfolio that delivers higher quality and higher consistency to end-users and service personnel.”
