Subaru’s updated 2026 Solterra electric SUV will feature a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, granting owners access to more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America. The move follows a similar announcement from Toyota and marks Subaru’s latest step toward expanding charging convenience for its EV customers.
The 2026 Solterra, which has received a major overhaul, includes increased driving range, enhanced power, faster charging, and refreshed interior and exterior styling. Subaru said the new Solterra is its first model to feature a native NACS port with Plug & Charge capability, allowing drivers to start and pay for charging sessions by simply plugging in.

“Starting this fall, all 2023–2025 Solterra EV drivers will be able to purchase a Genuine Subaru Accessory Fast Charging Adapter (NACS), which will open up access to Tesla Superchargers and other DC fast-charging stations,” the company said. While pricing has yet to be announced, Subaru confirmed that more information will be provided to current owners once details are finalized.
Unlike Toyota, which will distribute NACS adapters for free to bZ4X owners, Subaru plans to charge existing Solterra drivers for the adapter. Other automakers, including Ford, Hyundai, and Kia, are also offering free adapters to existing customers.

Based on the same Toyota e-TNGA platform as the bZ4X, the 2026 Solterra offers standard all-wheel drive and Subaru’s distinct design features. The new model delivers up to 288 miles of driving range and maintains a starting price of $38,495 — identical to the outgoing version.
Subaru also introduced a new Touring XT trim featuring a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a radiant leg heater for the driver and front passenger, priced from $45,555.

The redesigned Solterra adopts Subaru’s latest EV lighting signature, with an illuminated six-star logo, new headlamps and taillights, and an updated rear spoiler. Inside, all trims now come with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Subaru said lease offers for the 2026 Solterra will start at $339 per month, potentially making it a stronger value proposition than the 2026 Toyota bZ.
