1200 BYD DM-i PHEVs Arrive in Colombia

1200 units of BYD DM-i super hybrid vehicles arrived in Colombia from Xi’an, China. This marks a new record for individual export volume of DM-i hybrid vehicles from BYD and is another step in the company’s expansion into the Latin American market. The exported fleet consists of 200 units of the BYD QIN PLUS DM-i and 1000 units of the SONG PLUS DM-i. These models were first introduced to the Colombian market in March 2022 and have been popular among consumers for their fuel efficiency, long range, and premium design.

BYD has been working with its local distributor, Motorysa, to introduce a variety of new energy passenger vehicles to Colombia, including the HAN EV luxury flagship, the TANG SUV, and the QIN PLUS DM-i and SONG PLUS DM-i plug-in hybrids. To date, the company has delivered nearly 3000 NEV models to Colombia and has become a major player in the local market, contributing to the country’s transition to green transportation.

BYD has also introduced its new energy products to other Latin American countries including Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic. The brand has gained a reputation for its eco-friendly and high-tech products as it continues to promote the electrification of transportation in the region. With an increasing number of NEV models being introduced overseas, BYD is leading the way towards a new wave of green travel in Latin America.
