Geely’s premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr announced that its upcoming flagship SUV, the Zeekr 9X, will be equipped with a high-end audio system from British manufacturer Naim, the company said on Wednesday.

Naim, traditionally known for supplying bespoke audio setups to ultra-luxury automaker Bentley, has won the UK’s “Queen’s Award” three times. Its systems have been featured in Bentley models including the Flying Spur, Continental GT, and Bentayga, with top-tier configurations costing up to 140,000 yuan (19,230 USD) extra.

The Naim system in the Zeekr 9X features 32 speakers, eight seat shakers, and 40 independent channels. With a peak output of 3,868 watts, Zeekr claims it sets a new global record for in-car audio system power. The setup employs a 9.2.4.8 layout, including nine surround sound speakers, two subwoofers, four overhead channels, and eight headrest audio channels, and covers a frequency range from 20Hz to 40kHz.

The Zeekr 9X is a full-size SUV measuring 5,239mm in length, up to 2,029mm in width, and 1,819mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,169mm. It is equipped with a 70 kWh plug-in hybrid battery, the largest ever in the company’s lineup, and has a curb weight exceeding three tons. Zeekr plans to open pre-orders for the model at the Chengdu Auto Show later this month, with prices expected to start around 600,000 yuan (84,000 USD).

Bentley’s recent announcement of the “Naim for Mulliner” system in the 18-unit Batur model highlighted the brand’s commitment to high-end audio. Bentley described the system as “the most exquisite in-car audio system ever created,” developed over 10,000 hours with advanced hardware and recalibration, priced at 25,000 pounds.
