Zeekr has released the first official preview video of its upcoming 8X sport utility vehicle, offering a closer look at the high-performance hybrid model ahead of an expected debut in early 2026.

The automaker, a unit of Geely Auto, said on Monday via its Weibo account that the Zeekr 8X will serve as a hybrid flagship SUV, marking the brand’s continued expansion beyond pure battery-electric vehicles. “The most anticipated car of 2026 is here,” Zeekr wrote, suggesting the model is designed to handle a wide range of driving conditions.

The video follows an earlier teaser shared on Dec. 31, when Zeekr posted an image showing the rear of a camouflaged SUV to mark the end of 2025. While the company did not identify the vehicle at the time, the design details were widely interpreted as belonging to the Zeekr 8X.

Zeekr first disclosed plans for the 8X during a conference call in May, when it said the hybrid SUV was scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2025. That timeline was later pushed back as the automaker prioritized facelifts for several existing models in the second half of the year.

Local automotive media outlet Yiche reported in December that the Zeekr 8X is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2026, with pricing starting at around 400,000 yuan ($57,290) and a core sales range between 450,000 yuan and 500,000 yuan.

The 8X would become Zeekr’s second hybrid model following the Zeekr 9X, which was launched in September with a starting price of 465,900 yuan, placing it among the most expensive vehicles produced by a domestic Chinese brand.
