Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, Zeekr, is on an impressive growth trajectory, reporting record-breaking deliveries in August. The company’s latest data, released today, reveals that Zeekr successfully delivered 12,303 vehicles last month, setting a new all-time high. This achievement reflects a remarkable year-on-year increase of 71.69 percent and a modest month-on-month growth of 2.19 percent.
This notable milestone represents the seventh consecutive monthly increase in deliveries for Zeekr, further solidifying its position in the competitive EV market. Cumulatively, from January to August this year, Zeekr has delivered a total of 66,975 vehicles, reflecting a substantial year-on-year surge of 114.68 percent.

Zeekr’s journey to this impressive feat hasn’t been without its challenges. After consistently delivering over 10,000 vehicles per month in the fourth quarter of the previous year, the company faced a setback in January when deliveries dropped to 3,116. This decline was attributed in part to a temporary plant shutdown for necessary upgrades.
Despite this early setback, Zeekr has ambitious plans for 2023. The company aims to double its deliveries compared to the previous year, targeting approximately 140,000 units. To meet this goal, Zeekr will need to maintain an average monthly delivery rate of around 18,256 vehicles over the remaining four months of the year.
As of the end of August, Zeekr’s cumulative deliveries since its inception reached an impressive 144,923 vehicles, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.
Zeekr, which formally established itself as a standalone company in March 2021, has been making significant strides since then. The company’s first model, the Zeekr 001, was launched on April 15, 2021, with deliveries commencing in October 2021. On November 1, 2022, Zeekr introduced its second model, the Zeekr 009 MPV, officially launching it, and deliveries began on January 15. In April 2023, the company unveiled its third model, the Zeekr X, and deliveries in China commenced on June 12.

To drive sales and tackle increasing competition in the EV market, Zeekr initiated customer incentives. On August 11, the company announced discounts ranging from RMB 30,000 ($4,130) to RMB 37,000 for customers purchasing the Zeekr 001 during the year. The move proved successful, as Zeekr extended its store hours until 11 pm at 11 locations in 10 cities, including Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou, due to an influx of visitors seeking the Zeekr 001 discounts on August 15.
Zeekr has also embarked on an international expansion strategy in 2023. On June 27, the company began pre-sales of the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X in Europe, with prices starting at 59,490 euros ($64,510) and 44,990 euros, respectively. Local deliveries are set to commence within the year. Most recently, on August 25, Zeekr marked a significant milestone as its first Zeekr 001 models intended for European customers set sail, facilitating local deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter. Zeekr’s expansion into international markets reflects its commitment to becoming a global player in the EV industry.
