Zeekr recently launched the premium electric MPV Zeekr 009. This MPV is built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform which also underpins the Zeekr 001 along with Smart #1.
From a mechanical point of view, the Zeekr 009 carries a 400 kW dual electric motor paired with all-wheel drive. With this ferocious electric motor, the Zeekr 009 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
This dual electric motor is powered by a lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery with a power of 140 kWh with a maximum range of 822 km. In addition, Geely also provides a 116 kWh battery option with a range of 700 km. This 116 kWh battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes with the hypercharger.
Regarding the design, it can be said that this MPV has a pretty radical look. Up front, there are two headlights containing 154 inverted ‘U’-shaped LEDs flanking a large grille similar to Rolls-Royce’s. Large sliding doors can be found on either side while the back gets a full width lightbar.
In the interior, this MPV comes with a three-row cabin configuration and six leather-wrapped seats, complete with a massage function and a table in the second row. A 15.6-inch screen is also mounted from the roof in the second row.
In terms of features, Geely has equipped the Zeekr with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster that blends into a 15.4-inch central infotainment screen.
Other technology additions include AI assistant, voice and face recognition, as well as a driver assist system with various safety functions. The Zeekr 009 also carries a 20-speaker Yamaha surround sound system.
In terms of price, the Zeekr 009 comes in several variants and is sold at prices ranging from RMB499,000 to RMB588,000. Currently, Geely will only sell this electric MPV specifically for the Chinese market.
