Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of the Geely Holding Group, has introduced its Zeekr 001 shooting brake EV and Zeekr X compact SUV in Mexico as part of its international growth strategy.
The Zeekr 001 is priced at 988,000 Mexican pesos ($54,790), while the Zeekr X starts at 799,000 Mexican pesos. In China, these models are priced at RMB 269,000 ($36,990) and RMB 200,000, respectively. The Zeekr 001, launched on April 17, 2021, with deliveries beginning in October 2021, has been a major seller, accounting for 64% of Zeekr’s 118,685 units sold in 2023.

The Zeekr X was initially launched in China on April 12, 2023, with subsequent versions introduced in January and July of 2024 and 2025, respectively. This is the first time Zeekr has launched its EV models in Mexico, leveraging Geely Holding Group’s international footprint.
On February 7, Geely Auto and Zeekr signed an agreement to expedite the entry of Zeekr vehicles into the Mexican market. Geely Auto plans to purchase vehicles and aftermarket parts and accessories from Zeekr for resale in Mexico, with planned purchases capped at RMB 674 million in 2024, RMB 1.56 billion in 2025, and RMB 3.13 billion in 2026.

“The strategic deployment of the Zeekr brand of EVs will be of great significance in accumulating experience that will provide a key forward-looking advantage for future expansion into other Latin American countries,” Geely Auto stated.
Zeekr is actively expanding its global presence and currently operates in over 25 major international markets. The company aims to further extend its reach to 50 global markets by 2024, according to Zeekr’s vice president Chen Yu, who spoke at the launch of the right-hand drive version of the Zeekr X on July 17 in Hong Kong.
