Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand Yuanhang Auto, part of the Dayun Group, unveiled its Y6 all-electric sedan on December 28, targeting the high-end segment of the EV market. Priced between RMB 329,800 and RMB 529,800 yuan (approximately €42,000 to €68,000), the Y6 boasts a noteworthy feature – an impressive 1,020 km range.

Measuring 5,270 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, the Y6 presents itself as a sizable sedan. Characterized by a grille-less design, a fastback silhouette, frameless doors, and through-type taillights, the Y6 seeks to stand out in a crowded electric vehicle market.

Offering consumers five models to choose from, including two single-motor rear-wheel drive and three dual-motor four-wheel drive options, the Y6 features rim sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches, with various tire specifications. The color palette includes green, gold, black, and white.

Inside the Y6, an available green and beige interior hosts a prominent 17.38-inch central control screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon third-generation 8155 chip. Additional highlights encompass a 70-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD), a 10.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a 27-speaker audio system, enhancing the cabin experience.

Equipped with powertrain configurations supporting single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive, the Y6 promises a top speed of 205 km/h. Acceleration figures are noteworthy, with the base rear-wheel-drive model achieving 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the four-wheel-drive variant accomplishes an impressive 3.2 seconds.

A key feature of the Y6 is its ternary lithium battery packs, offering three capacities and four cruising ranges. The top-of-the-range model, featuring a 150 kWh battery pack, claims a remarkable 1,020 km range. The Y6 supports fast charging, enabling a 30-minute charge from 20% to 80%.

While the Yuanhang Y6 enters the electric sedan market with a distinctive offering, industry observers may question its competitiveness given its substantial price tag and the abundance of compelling alternatives. The Y6 joins the growing lineup of EVs boasting 150 kWh battery packs in 2024, indicating a trend toward extended-range electric vehicles.
