Xpeng has officially unveiled the A868, a new flying car developed by its recently rebranded flying car unit Aridge, during its 2025 AI Day event. The reveal follows a public demonstration of the model in Dubai last month, marking a major step in Xpeng’s push toward advanced aerial mobility.
The A868 features a hybrid power system capable of delivering a range exceeding 500 kilometers, making it suitable for long-distance, multi-passenger travel.

The eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aircraft can accommodate up to six passengers and achieve a top speed of more than 360 km/h, eliminating the need for a runway during takeoff and landing. Xpeng confirmed that the A868 prototype has now entered the test flight phase.
Formerly known as Aeroht, the unit was rebranded as Aridge in October and continues to focus on the Land Aircraft Carrier modular flying car system, which integrates a flying vehicle with a ground-based “mother” car that can recharge it. Xpeng said the company has already secured more than 7,000 orders for the system.

Aridge has established a dedicated flying car manufacturing facility in Guangzhou, which recently produced its first flying body on November 3. The factory is designed for modern assembly line production with an initial annual capacity of 5,000 units, expandable to 10,000 units at full scale. At maximum efficiency, the plant is capable of producing one aircraft every 30 minutes, with deliveries targeted to begin in 2026.
