Xpeng is making a major move in the European market, as the company has officially opened up order books for the first two of its electric vehicles set to be sold in the region. Four countries will be able to purchase these vehicles, including Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Denmark. Despite already having a presence in Norway, Xpeng has decided to formalize its presence in the European market through this expansion.
As a result, Xpeng has also decided to upgrade its popular P7 model, which has been available in Norway since last year. The updated version will feature a more efficient battery, offering improved range and faster charging times to meet the demands of European consumers. With this move, Xpeng is set to shake up the electric vehicle market in Europe, offering a new and exciting option for environmentally conscious consumers.
The Xpeng decided to bring its Xpeng G9 SUV to Europe, after facing delays with the Xpeng P5 model. Upon its initial launch in China, the Xpeng G9 was touted as the fastest charging SUV on the market. To simplify the purchasing process for consumers, the company streamlined the available trim options.
The Xpeng G9 boasts an impressive 570 km range, as certified by WLTP standards, in its RWD Long Range trim. The vehicle’s cutting-edge platform, which utilizes silicone-carbide technology, supports charging speeds of up to 300 kW. This means that a 10% to 80% recharge can be achieved in just 20 minutes at a suitable fast charging station.
The XPeng P7 receives a significant upgrade to its battery, increasing its range to 576km (358mi) and allowing for fast charging from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes. Additionally, the sedan now features an electric tailgate, door soft-closing mechanism, heated steering wheel, and a new heat pump air conditioning unit.
Both the P7 and G9 SUV come equipped with XPilot ADAS and the user interface supports multiple European languages. Deliveries of the P7 sedan will start in June, while the G9 SUV will become available to buyers in September.
