After successfully resuming its international expansion efforts earlier this year, Xpeng is now gearing up to accelerate its global presence in 2024. The company’s chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, recently revealed plans to enter dozens of countries next year, with a focus on developed markets. This move is part of Xpeng’s vision to become a global company and offer the best self-driving experience worldwide by 2025.

Xpeng has already made strides in several European countries by launching its flagship sedan, the P7, and flagship SUV, the G9. The company is also set to enter Israel with these models and is optimistic about its version 2.0 expansion efforts in the latter half of 2023.

Looking ahead to 2024, Xpeng aims to introduce its latest SUV, the G6, alongside its existing lineup, the P7, and G9, in overseas markets. Mr. He highlighted that Xpeng is determined to differentiate itself not just based on efficiency and cost but by offering customers in other countries a unique and advanced tech product.

The recent strategic partnership with German auto giant Volkswagen, which invested $700 million in Xpeng, is expected to further propel the company’s international expansion. Mr. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would enable Xpeng to expand more efficiently and rapidly into global markets.

Emphasizing the significance of international expansion for the Chinese auto industry, Mr. He reiterated his vision of building a strong global presence rather than just focusing on domestic growth. He believes that China possesses the capability to combine high-quality hardware and software, making it well-positioned to offer the best tech products to global consumers.

Xpeng’s earlier emphasis on the European market in 2022 faced some challenges, resulting in the suspension of pre-orders for the P5 sedan. However, the company successfully re-entered the European market in early 2023 with the introduction of the P7 and G9 models.

The strategic partnership with Freesbe (formerly known as Carasso Motors), one of Israel’s largest car dealer groups, further demonstrates Xpeng’s commitment to expanding its reach in the Middle Eastern market.

As Xpeng’s sales performance rebounds, largely due to the significant contributions from the G6 model, the company is poised to establish a strong global presence while showcasing its cutting-edge technologies and premium EV products to international customers.
