Thailand’s Xing Mobility and German engineering service provider Ideenion have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop advanced battery systems for vehicles, marine platforms and stationary energy storage, with a primary focus on European markets, the companies said.
Under the agreement, the partners will combine Xing Mobility’s immersion-cooling and cell-to-pack battery expertise with Ideenion’s experience in full-vehicle engineering and system integration. Xing Mobility, a Taiwan-based battery technology developer with production operations in Thailand, will contribute its immersion-cooled battery architectures, while Ideenion, headquartered in Gaimersheim, will bring its capabilities in automotive design and integration for clients including Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The partnership will target electrification solutions for “high-performance and commercial vehicles, marine platforms, and energy storage systems,” the companies said, with system integration planned from the earliest stages of development. Production for future projects is expected to be based at Xing Mobility’s existing manufacturing facility in Thailand. The companies said joint engineering teams will aim to deliver turnkey solutions spanning battery pack integration, thermal management, electrical and electronic architecture and digital vehicle validation to shorten development timelines and reduce industrialisation risks.
“Xing and Ideenion share the same passion for pushing boundaries,” said Royce YC Hong, founder and chief executive of XING Mobility. “We’re bringing Europe’s automakers a truly immersive, integrated battery architecture—coolant is the bloodstream; the veins become the structure. Immersion isn’t just a cooling method; it’s a philosophy of integration that makes EVs lighter, safer, and faster to industrialise.”

Immersion cooling fully surrounds battery cells with a liquid coolant, offering a much larger heat-transfer surface than conventional cooling plates or channels. The technology is designed to improve thermal efficiency and reduce the risk of thermal runaway and fire propagation across battery packs.
Xing Mobility has progressively expanded its immersion-based product portfolio in recent years. In 2022, the company launched its Immersio XM25 battery for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, followed by its Immersio cell-to-pack (CTP) system for passenger EVs. It later introduced a cell-to-chassis solution and, at this year’s IAA Mobility show, unveiled its latest Immersio CTP system, which is expected to underpin the partnership with Ideenion.

“Our collaboration with Xing Mobility is a natural extension of our mission to deliver cutting-edge automotive solutions,” said Mirko Konta, chief executive of Ideenion Automobil AG. “By integrating XING’s pioneering immersion-cooled, cell-to-pack systems with our design and engineering capabilities, we will accelerate next-generation electric mobility that meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and sustainability.”
