Xiaomi has introduced the prototype for a hypercar version of its recently launched SU7 electric vehicle (EV). The announcement was made during the annual speech by Founder Lei Jun on Friday.

The new model, named the SU7 Ultra, is designed for high performance and aims to compete on Germany’s Nürburgring race track. The SU7 Ultra is a modified variant of the SU7, featuring a top speed of over 350 km/h (217 mph), acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 1.97 seconds (0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds), and 1,548 horsepower.

The hypercar boasts a fully carbon fiber body, weighing approximately 4,188 pounds. Equipped with a CATL Qilin fast-charging battery, Xiaomi claims the SU7 Ultra can be fully charged in under 12 minutes. The company plans to record an outstanding lap time with the SU7 Ultra at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in October.

“We are excited to push the boundaries of EV performance with the SU7 Ultra,” said Lei Jun. “Our goal is to set a new standard in electric vehicle speed and efficiency.”

While pricing details for the SU7 Ultra have not yet been disclosed, the other three variants of the SU7—Standard, Pro, and Max—are priced at $29,700, $33,832, and $41,261, respectively.

Xiaomi has already delivered over 10,000 units of the SU7 since its official launch in March. The company reported nearly 89,000 preorders within 24 hours of the announcement. In response to high demand, Xiaomi plans to increase its SU7 delivery target by about 20 percent.

To meet production demands, Xiaomi has implemented a two-shift schedule at its factory in the Yizhuang area of Beijing, capable of producing one SU7 every 76 seconds, equating to around 40 units per hour.
