The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has achieved a milestone by setting a lap time of 1:26.741 seconds at the Chengdu Tianfu Circuit in China, making it the fastest four-door production car on the track. This record surpasses the 1:34.905 lap time set by a BMW M3, although the specific modifications made to the M3 remain unclear.

Equipped with a powerful triple-motor all-wheel-drive system generating 1,548 horsepower, the SU7 Ultra delivers impressive acceleration, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds and completing a quarter-mile in 9.23 seconds. The vehicle’s top speed exceeds 350 km/h, and it boasts a 5.2C maximum charging rate, enabling the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes. For track enthusiasts, Xiaomi states that the SU7 Ultra will undergo further testing across China.

The design of the SU7 Ultra features a high-saturation yellow paint job with silver racing stripes, complemented by blacked-out aerodynamic components and a carbon fiber roof. The car includes 17 carbon fiber parts, as well as an aerodynamic kit that generates 285 kg of downforce. Inside, the black-and-yellow theme, with carbon fiber and Alcantara accents, sports seats, and a redesigned steering wheel, enhances the car’s performance-oriented appeal.

The infotainment system in the SU7 Ultra operates on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. Notable features include three simulated engine sound profiles and the “Track Master” function. Additionally, the car is equipped with Xiaomi Pilot, an advanced driver-assistance system that uses two Orin X chips with a combined computing power of 508 TOPS.

Scheduled for release in March 2024, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is priced at 814,900 yuan (approximately 111,550 USD) for pre-sale, with a refundable 10,000 yuan deposit required for pre-orders. Xiaomi has set an annual sales target of 10,000 units, and the car will be available for viewing in 112 stores across 42 cities in China.
