The Xiaomi SU7 was officially launched on March 28, 2024, and is available in three versions: Standard, Pro, and Max. The Standard version is priced at RMB 215,900 ($29,800), while the Pro version is priced at RMB 245,900, and the Max version starts at RMB 299,900. The Standard and Max versions began deliveries in April 2024, followed by the Pro model in May. The electric sedan has been well-received, with growing interest from consumers across China.
In a move to offer more personalized options, Xiaomi introduced a limited-edition red exterior color for the SU7 on December 31, 2024, to mark the company’s 15th anniversary. This special edition, which went on sale on January 1, 2025, is priced at RMB 9,000 ($1,230), which is higher than the RMB 7,000 price tag for other paid color options. The red SU7 will be available for delivery starting in March 2025. The introduction of the red edition highlights Xiaomi’s continued efforts to differentiate its electric vehicle offerings and attract new buyers.
Along with the success of the SU7, Xiaomi is also focused on expanding its electric vehicle portfolio. The company’s next major launch will be the high-performance SU7 Ultra, which became available for pre-order in China on October 29, 2024. With a price of RMB 814,900 ($110,000), the SU7 Ultra is nearly four times the price of the base model. Xiaomi plans to officially launch the SU7 Ultra in March 2025.
Beyond the SU7 series, Xiaomi is also developing a second electric vehicle model, the YU7. Set to be an SUV, the YU7 is expected to debut in mid-2025, with the official launch slated for June or July. The development of the YU7 marks Xiaomi’s expansion into the SUV market, further diversifying its EV lineup to cater to different consumer preferences.
