BYD has released official interior images of its upcoming Qin Max midsize sedan, providing a closer look at the cabin as the company continues previewing the model ahead of its expected market launch.
The images were shared on Weibo by Lu Tian, head of sales for BYD’s Dynasty lineup, and feature a new interior color called “Dawn Purple.”
Interior Adopts Minimalist Design
The Qin Max features a minimalist cabin layout centered around a floating infotainment display and a column-mounted gear selector.
The center console retains a limited number of physical buttons and rotary controls, while the interior incorporates piano-black trim throughout the dashboard and console.
The sedan is also equipped with a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
According to the images, threaded mounting points positioned near the doors allow accessories, including action cameras, to be attached inside the cabin.
“A car that is the top choice for young people should not only be fun to drive, comfortable to sit in and convenient to use, but also look good,” Lu Tian said.
“This low-saturation purple is uplifting, and I hope you like it.”
Launch Expected in Coming Weeks
BYD has not officially announced the Qin Max’s launch date.
However, local media reports have suggested the model could be introduced on August 13, with display vehicles expected to begin arriving at dealerships before the end of this month.
The company first unveiled the Qin Max on July 13, describing it as the largest model in the Qin family and positioning it above the Qin L.
Earlier this week, BYD also released exterior images showing the sedan in a light pink paint finish.
Offered in BEV and Plug-in Hybrid Versions
Regulatory filings previously published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) indicate that the Qin Max will be available in both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid variants.
According to the filings, the sedan measures 4,866 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase.
The battery-electric version is expected to be offered with electric motors producing either 240 kW or 120 kW, while the plug-in hybrid model combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine rated at 74 kW with an electric motor producing up to 175 kW.
BYD said the Qin Max will also support its latest flash charging technology and will expand the Qin lineup, which currently consists of the Qin Plus and Qin L.
