China Battery Exchange, a subsidiary of Kandi Technologies Group, has received an order from Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) to supply battery swap equipment for 18 heavy-truck battery swap stations.
The order represents the first commercial batch awarded under a three-year cooperation agreement signed in January 2026 between China Battery Exchange and CATL’s heavy-truck battery swap subsidiary, Qiji Energy.
First Commercial Batch Under Strategic Agreement
The procurement covers the manufacture, delivery, installation and after-sales maintenance of battery swap equipment for 18 heavy-truck battery swap stations.
According to the company, the order marks China Battery Exchange’s transition into commercial deployment within CATL’s supplier network.
Kandi Begins Production at Battery Swap Equipment Plant in China
China Battery Exchange first received a battery swap station order from CATL in August 2025 before the companies formalized their three-year strategic cooperation agreement in January 2026.
Supports CATL’s Network Expansion
The latest order forms part of CATL’s 10,000 Stations Plan, under which Qiji Energy aims to deploy approximately 900 heavy-truck battery swap stations by the end of 2026.
China Battery Exchange said the new contract strengthens its role as a key equipment supplier supporting the rollout of CATL’s heavy-truck battery swapping infrastructure.
Company Expands Production Capacity
Kandi Technologies said it has increased manufacturing capacity in preparation for higher demand as battery swapping infrastructure expands.
“This order reflects the strength of our partnership with CATL and validates our capabilities in product technology, quality assurance and delivery execution,” said Feng Chen, chief executive officer of Kandi Technologies.
“We have expanded our production capacity ahead of growing market demand, and our position within CATL’s ecosystem provides a solid foundation for further growth in the battery swap sector.”
The companies did not disclose the financial value of the order or the delivery schedule for the 18 battery swap stations.
