Xiaomi said its electric vehicle unit, Xiaomi EV, has completed a 24-hour endurance test of the next-generation Xiaomi SU7, as the company prepares to launch the updated model in the coming months.
The SU7 Max variant covered 4,264 kilometres during the continuous 24-hour test, Xiaomi EV said on Monday, setting what it described as a new benchmark for mass-produced vehicles under this testing format. The result exceeds the 3,961 kilometres recorded by Xpeng’s updated P7 in a similar test last year, as well as earlier results posted by vehicles such as the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-Benz CLA.

The endurance run took place in Yancheng, Jiangsu province, between November 20 and 21, 2025. During the test, the vehicle operated continuously for 24 hours, including charging time, and reached speeds of up to 240 km/h in an effort to maximize total distance. “It’s like running a marathon at sprint speed,” said Xiaomi founder, chairman and chief executive Lei Jun in a post on social media platform Weibo.
The SU7 Max used in the test is equipped with Xiaomi’s V6s Plus electric motor, which supports speeds of up to 265 km/h and operates at up to 22,000 revolutions per minute. The vehicle is built on an 897-volt silicon carbide high-voltage platform and uses a 101.7 kWh ternary lithium battery. Xiaomi said the system supports a peak charging rate of 5.2C and delivers a CLTC-rated range of 835 kilometres per charge.

Lei said the SU7 Max shares the same thermal management system as the higher-performance SU7 Ultra, allowing the vehicle to add up to 670 kilometres of range in around 15 minutes of charging under suitable conditions.
Xiaomi established its EV business in 2021 and launched its first production model, the Xiaomi SU7 sedan, in March 2024, positioning it against Tesla’s Model 3. The company later introduced the SU7 Ultra performance variant and, in June 2025, launched its first electric SUV, the YU7. Xiaomi EV has begun taking pre-orders for the facelifted SU7, with a full market launch planned for April.
