Xiaomi’s electric vehicle division reported deliveries of more than 30,000 units in July, marking a new monthly record as the company expands its lineup and accelerates production to meet rising demand.
The performance was largely driven by the YU7, Xiaomi’s first electric SUV, which officially launched on June 26. The model, positioned as a competitor to Tesla’s Model Y, attracted significant consumer interest, with hundreds of thousands of orders placed within hours of launch. Deliveries of the YU7 began on July 6.

In response to the strong reception, Xiaomi is ramping up operations at its Phase 2 EV plant in Beijing. Chinese media reported the company is conducting large-scale recruitment for factory roles, including general workers, equipment operators, and truck drivers. The hiring drive targets younger applicants and involves extended shift work as Xiaomi scales up capacity.
The company’s total vehicle deliveries in China have now surpassed 300,000 units, a milestone it reached in mid-July, just 15 months after entering the electric vehicle market. Xiaomi Auto’s first model, the SU7 electric sedan, debuted in March 2024 and contributed significantly to the early sales momentum.
