The Japanese manufacturer, Nissan, did not want to miss the festive momentum of the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) 2022, April 15-24 by introducing the novelty of their electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf.

In the United States market, the Nissan Leaf brings a new look and also a more charming interior arrangement. Not to forget the level of efficiency is better in the use of electrical energy. The choices are also attractive, namely Leaf S and Leaf SV Plus.

The fresh appearance that can be immediately noticed is the shape of the front grille, the curve of the bumper and the headlights are sweetened with black sweeps on the inside. The Nissan badge also has a glow as the identity of the latest design.

So that the level of efficiency in the use of electric power is also getting better, the aerodynamics of the vehicle are improved. Starting from the four sectors of the tire deflector, the part under the diffuser and the rear spoiler. Oh yes, the new aluminum-alloy rims look more aggressive, measuring 17 inches with 5 blades for Leaf SV Plus standards.

The interior arrangement that gets a new touch apart from the badge is the steering wheel and start-up video on the instrument panel screen. Black fabric is standard for both trims, with a gray finish for the Leaf S and the Leaf SV Plus with glossy black details added.

The speed capability is made differently, for the Leaf S uses a lithium-ion battery with a power of 40 kWh and a 110 kW electric motor, capable of producing 147 hp and 320 Nm of torque equivalent. While the Leaf SV Plus uses a 160 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 160 kW electric motor, capable of serving 214 hp and 339 Nm of torque.

The mileage of the two will be announced the day after tomorrow at the launch at NYIAS 2022, but Nissan does not deny that the mileage is not much different from the 2022 model.

The high-level safety feature that is installed is ProPilot Assist, which helps the driver to be more alert when driving and not be aware of the threat of an incident.

The device is a combination of Nissan intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist technology. ProPilot also allows the vehicle to have stop and go functions including making the car come to a full stop, slowing down and being able to return to speed when traffic has started to move.

There is no need to hesitate for Leaf ownership, especially the use of lithium-ion batteries, because it is guaranteed for eight years or 100,000 km of use depending on usage. There is also a guarantee if the battery is easy to drop during the first year of use.
