Geely’s electric car brand, Zeekr, has revealed its latest model, the Zeekr 007, at the Guangzhou Auto Show, marking the brand’s entry into the mid-range market. Priced competitively at 229,900 yuan (approximately 29,000 euros), the Zeekr 007 is based on an 800-volt platform, presenting a more affordable option compared to Zeekr’s existing premium models.
The Zeekr 007, measuring 4.87 meters in length, is offered in two variants: a 310 kW rear-wheel-drive version and a more powerful 475 kW all-wheel-drive option. Two battery configurations provide an impressive range of up to 688 and 870 kilometers, respectively, according to the Chinese standard. Zeekr has not disclosed specific details about the battery capacities. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kph is reported at 2.84 seconds for the rear-wheel-drive version and 5.4 seconds for the all-wheel-drive model.
All iterations of the Zeekr 007 adopt an 800-volt architecture and utilize the PMA2+ platform, a collaborative development by Geely and Volvo. Notably, the vehicle features a rear body produced as a one-piece die-cast aluminum body, a process that enhances structural rigidity while reducing the number of parts and welds compared to traditional manufacturing methods.
Highlighting the vehicle’s intelligent capabilities, the Zeekr 007’s cockpit is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, accompanied by two Nvidia Drive Orin chips, delivering a total computing power of 508 tops. The saloon’s hardware includes advanced features such as LiDAR, 12 HD cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars.
Pre-sales for the Zeekr 007 have already commenced in China, with prices starting at 229,900 yuan. Zeekr aims to launch the model and initiate deliveries in January 2024. Customers who reserve the model with a 1,000 yuan deposit before the official market launch will receive a discount of 5,000 yuan, effectively reducing the pre-sale price to 224,900 yuan. Zeekr reported receiving over 10,000 orders within three hours of initiating the current pre-sale.
