What we know so far about Dodge Charger Daytona SRT specifications

Dodge has introduced a new Dodge Charger concept car that has become an electric car (17/8).

Appearing at the Dodge Speed Week event at the M1 Concourse, Pontiac, United States, the Dodge Charger concept electric car is named the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT.

The presence of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric car is proof that Dodge is still loyal to muscle cars, even though they are powered by electricity.

“The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept came about because the car’s performance prompted us to make it happen,” said Tim Kuniskis, Chief Executive Officer of Dodge.

“The Charger Daytona SRT Concept can do a lot more than just perform at a car show, it can run a quick quarter mile,” added Kuniskis.

In the Charger Daytona SRT concept car, Dodge also introduced three interesting technologies that will make Dodge electric cars different.

First from the drive, Dodge calls the Charger Daytona SRT has an 800 Volt drive system called the Banshee.

The Banshee drive system has an electric motor that drives all the wheels and is claimed to be faster than the Hellcat.

Unfortunately, Dodge has not mentioned the full specifications or leaked power of the Charger Daytona SRT.

In addition to the Banshee, the Charger Daytona SRT also has an eRupt Transmission which is said to provide the sensation of changing gears typical of conventional cars.

Along with the eRupt transmission, Dodge also mentions the Charger Daytona SRT has a PowerShot system that provides instant bursts of power.

Another interesting technology is the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust which Dodge says gives the Charger Daytona SRT sound on par with the Hellcat.

Of course, this Fratzonic Exhaust is not a real exhaust but a sound module system that is attached to the back of the car.

Dodge claims the Fratzonic module can produce up to 126 dB of sound.
