Walmart has expanded its company-operated electric vehicle fast-charging network to 100 stores across 20 U.S. states, adding charging infrastructure to its retail footprint as demand for convenient public EV charging grows. Most of the sites provide eight to 16 fast-charging points with power outputs of up to 400 kW and support both CCS and NACS connectors.
Walmart Expands Store-Based Charging
The retailer marked the 100th location at a Walmart Supercenter in Monument, Colorado. Walmart owns and operates the charging equipment and is gradually expanding the network across its stores.

Most charging locations feature between eight and 16 fast-charging points. With individual chargers capable of delivering up to 400 kW, the sites are designed to support rapid charging for a broad range of electric vehicles.
Both CCS and NACS connectors are available, allowing the network to serve vehicles using the two charging standards.
“By expanding EV fast charging at Walmart locations across the country, we’re giving drivers a dependable way to charge while they’re in the store,” said Shayne Wahlmeier, Senior Vice President of Walmart Energy. “Reaching 100 sites is an important milestone, and our broad footprint positions us to make EV charging more accessible for communities while expanding the ways we serve our customers.”
Charging Network Includes Hundreds of Points
Walmart has not disclosed the total number of individual charging points currently operating across the 100 locations.

Because most sites have between eight and 16 charging points, the network’s total number of operational chargers is significantly higher than its number of locations.
The placement of chargers at Walmart stores also allows drivers to combine vehicle charging with a shopping stop, integrating fast-charging infrastructure into an established retail network.
Further U.S. Expansion Planned
Walmart plans to continue expanding its fast-charging network in markets where it identifies additional demand for EV charging infrastructure.
The company is working with local utilities and other partners to bring new charging locations online. The continued rollout will extend Walmart’s network beyond its current presence in 20 states as the retailer develops more charging capacity across its U.S. store base.
