Volvo’s EX30 small SUV has been honored with the prestigious Red Dot award for Best of the Best Product Design 2024, highlighting its excellence in design and innovation.
The Red Dot award recognizes products that excel in design based on four fundamental principles: the quality of function, seduction, use, and responsibility. A jury of 39 experts from around the world selected the EX30 as the winner, giving it a total score of 93 out of 100 in a competitive field.
Jim Rowan, CEO at Volvo Cars, expressed pride in the EX30’s achievement, stating, “The Volvo EX30 embodies Volvo Cars’ design values in a smaller format and is a showcase in premium Scandinavian design where form follows function.”
The EX30 is lauded for its environmentally friendly design, boasting the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo car to date. It is designed to prioritize safety, a hallmark of Volvo’s vehicles. Packed with cutting-edge technology, the EX30 caters to the growing market of car buyers switching to electric vehicles.
The SUV features a long wheelbase, large wheels, and equal overhangs, providing balance and refinement to its exterior. Inside, natural and recycled materials contribute to Volvo’s sustainability targets. The interior design emphasizes flexibility and premium proportions, with a centralized theme for storage, controls, and the touchscreen.
Since its unveiling last summer, the EX30 has garnered more than 20 major awards, including the Car Design award 2024 from Auto & Design magazine. It has also been named The Sun Car of the Year, World Urban Car from the World Car Awards, Small SUV/Crossover of the Year from The Sunday Times, and Eco Warrior of the Year from Top Gear.
