Volvo Cars has unveiled the first official details of its upcoming EX60 electric SUV, a mid-size model set to replace or complement the XC60 in its lineup.
The vehicle will debut on January 21, 2026, in Stockholm and enter production in the first half of that year at the company’s Torslanda plant in Gothenburg.
The EX60 will be built on Volvo’s SPA3 platform, its latest modular and software-defined EV architecture, which incorporates a structural battery pack and megacasted rear underfloor to improve efficiency and production speed.
The company said the SUV will deliver “a longer electric range than any Volvo car before it,” surpassing the EX90’s 310 miles (EPA) / 364 miles (WLTP). Design cues include Volvo’s signature “Hammer of Thor” headlights and proportions between the EX30 and EX90.
“Born electric, it will be the first car launched on our latest technology base – delivering a longer electric range than any Volvo car before it, along with a groundbreaking user experience,” Volvo said in a statement.
The automaker described the EX60 as its first fully electric entry in the premium mid-size SUV segment, a category where it is already a market leader.
