Volvo Cars UK is broadening its EX30 lineup with the introduction of the new entry-level ‘Core’ specification. The new addition joins the existing ‘Plus’ and ‘Ultra’ grades, offering two powertrain options.
The ‘Single Motor’ variant boasts a driving range of up to 209 miles, while the ‘Single Motor Extended Range’ can travel up to 295 miles, as per official WLTP data. The starting price for the Single Motor version is £32,850, and the Single Motor Extended Range is priced at £37,050.

Order books for the new EX30 Core variants are now open, although first deliveries to customers are anticipated in early 2025. The first EX30 vehicles were delivered to customers at the beginning of this year.
Volvo describes the Core’s equipment package as “generous,” including features such as a “rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, automatic LED headlights with active high beam, and 18-inch alloy wheels.” The 12.3-inch touchscreen system comes with Google built-in. In the Extended Range variant, the climate control system also incorporates a heat pump, “helping optimize the car’s power usage and driving range.”
The Chinese-owned Swedish automaker appears to be adjusting its global strategy with the EX30. Recently, the model was discontinued in the USA, while a new variant was launched in China. This shift is likely influenced by the subsidy situation in the USA, which mandates that vehicles and batteries be locally sourced. Volvo’s primary production hubs are in Europe.
