After announcing the ID price. Buzz, German auto giant Volkswagen has announced that they have started production of their electric van.

Van ID. The Buzz comes with an electric powertrain and carries the DNA of the iconic T1 van. ID. Buzz has entered the assembly line at Volkswagen’s production facility in Hannover. The production facility in Hanover has been revamped over the last two years to make it dedicated to EVs.

The Buzz electric van will be produced in three different variants. While there will be variants for passenger cars, there will also be cargo and carrier variants.

Volkswagen targets to build as many as 15,000 ID units. Buzz in 2022. Production is expected to increase to 130,000 units once it reaches full production speed.

Variant ID. Buzz for the US market will be different from the European variant. Variant ID. The US Buzz will have a longer wheelbase and there will be three rows of seats.

Volkswagen currently only produces ID. Buzz with rear-wheel drive model with a single electric motor. ID. The Buzz will come with a more powerful dual-motor electric powertrain combined with an AWD system. ID. The buzz is expected to produce around 300 hp.

ID. The buzz is indeed awaited by Volkswagen fans, especially those who have memories of the legendary Van T1. ID. Buzz will be one of the main products in Volkswagen’s electric vehicle portfolio
