Volkswagen Introduces 2024 ID.6 Crozz Electric SUV with Range Up To 347 Miles

Volkswagen has unveiled its latest addition to the electric vehicle market in China, the 2024 ID.6 Crozz electric SUV. This refreshed three-row SUV boasts improvements in range, subtle design enhancements, and an attractive starting price of approximately $35,500 (258,900 yuan).

Manufactured as part of the joint venture between Volkswagen and FAW-VW, the ID.6 Crozz was initially introduced in 2021 as the largest electric model offered by Volkswagen in the Chinese market. It’s important to note that Volkswagen’s presence in China includes two joint ventures: FAW-VW and SAIC-VW. When Volkswagen introduces a new model, both companies produce and market it under different names. For instance, FAW-VW handles the ID.4 Crozz and ID.6 Crozz, while SAIC-VW manages the ID.4 X and ID.6 X. Although the ID.4 has a global presence, the ID.6 is currently exclusively available in China.

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.6 Crozz has been officially launched with a price range spanning from $35,500 (258,900 yuan) to $46,200 (336,900 yuan). At first glance, exterior design changes from its predecessor are relatively subtle, focusing mainly on enhancements to improve aerodynamics.

Buyers can choose from four exterior colors, including blue, orange, gold, and white (an additional $272 charge). Notably, the purple color option has been discontinued.

In terms of dimensions, the ID.6 Crozz measures 192 inches in length, 72 inches in width, and 66 inches in height. It is slightly smaller than the Atlas, which measures 201 inches in length, 78 inches in width, and 70 inches in height.

Stepping inside the vehicle reveals a 12-inch center control screen, a 5.3-inch instrument panel, and an augmented reality (AR) head-up display. Many physical buttons have been replaced by touchscreen controls. Additionally, the vehicle’s MOSC 4.0 system has been updated to support voice interaction and online navigation.

The seating configuration is flexible, accommodating either a 2x2x2 or 2x3x2 arrangement, allowing for seven passengers. Volkswagen offers the ID.6 Crozz in four different trims: Pure, Pure+, Pro, and Prime, with all-wheel drive (AWD) options available.

As an enticing offer for potential buyers, FAW-VW’s website currently lists discounts of up to $6,200 (45,000 yuan) on the 2024 ID.6 Crozz for a limited time. This launch follows closely on the heels of FAW-VW’s recent price reductions for the ID.4 Crozz earlier this month, which brought the starting price down to $20,060 (145,900 yuan). Volkswagen had also previously reduced prices on its ID.3 model in China in July, contributing to a boost in sales.
