VinFast VF e34 EV gets 4 stars in ASEAN NCAP crash test

The Vietnamese-made electric car, the VinFast VF e34 EV, won four stars for the ASEAN NCAP crash test. The car is a special note for Vietnam’s national car manufacturer because it is the first vehicle to take part in the ASEAN NCAP crash test with a new method that will be implemented from 2021 to 2025.

It is known that VinFast is quite diligent in sending their cars to undergo the ASEAN NCAP crash test session. Some of the cars they sent include VinFast Fadil, VinFast Lux SA2.0 and VinFast Lux A2.0. The cars were hit tested with the old method or protocol.

Actually, in terms of assessment, VinFast VF e34 EV is considered to have failed to achieve five stars. The reason is that the accumulated scores from the exams only reached 78.99 points. However, according to ASEAN NCAP, the achievement of four stars is sufficient.

Moreover, from the crash tests carried out, the VinFast VF e34 EV managed to achieve a considerable value in terms of passenger protection. The score achieved for that part was 35.92 out of a total score of 40 points.

In addition, VinFast VF e34 EV won a score of 17.71 points for child protection (maximum 20 points), and motorcycle rider protection with a score of 12.50 from a maximum value of 20 points.

The Vietnamese-made electric car also scored 12.86 out of 20 points in the safety assistance category, with a standard system equipped with lane departure warning, rear traffic warning and automatic high beam. What’s special is that the car has also been equipped with the e-Call feature, which functions to contact emergency services in the event of an accident and monitor blind spots.

Currently VinFast e34 EV is sold at a price of 690 million Dong. The electric car is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor with a power of 150 PS and a maximum torque of 242 Nm.

In addition to the active safety systems mentioned above, this five-seater crossover is also equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a door-opening warning system, and the usual passive systems (ABS, EBD, brake assist, ESC, traction control, hill start assist). . Other equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch portrait-format infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual air conditioning with rear vents, and a tire pressure monitor.
