Former ABB FIA Formula E Drivers’ World Champion Stoffel Vandoorne has joined Jaguar TCS Racing as reserve driver for the 2025/26 season, the team announced on Friday. The Belgian driver moves from Maserati MSG Racing, where he spent the previous season and delivered the team’s only GEN3 Evo victory in Tokyo.

Vandoorne brings extensive Formula E experience, with over 100 race starts across seven seasons. His career in the all-electric series began with HWA Racelab before a three-year spell at Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team, where he captured the 2022 world title. He later competed with DS Penske and Maserati, earning a reputation as one of the series’ most consistent performers.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Jaguar TCS Racing as reserve driver for the upcoming season,” Vandoorne said in a statement. “It’s a team I’ve long admired for its performance and professionalism, and I’m excited to contribute to their continued success.”

He will work alongside long-serving simulator and reserve driver Tom Dillmann, who returns for a sixth consecutive year with Jaguar. Together, the pair will focus on development of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 and the team’s future GEN4 car, supporting efforts both on track and at the factory.

“It’s a real pleasure to be continuing with Jaguar TCS Racing for my sixth season,” Dillmann said. “Over the years, I’ve seen the team grow into a true championship contender, and I’m proud to have played a part in that journey.”

Jaguar TCS Racing enters its tenth Formula E season on the back of its most successful campaign to date, finishing second in both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championships in 2024/25. The team claimed six wins, including five in the final six rounds, and will continue to run the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 in its second year of GEN3 Evo homologation.
