Formula E has confirmed its final calendar for Season 12 following the recent FIA World Motorsport Council (WMSC) meeting, featuring 17 races across 10 venues. The updated schedule removes the previously undecided May 30 race, marking one of the longest seasons in the championship’s history and the final campaign of the Gen3 era.
The new season begins on December 6, 2025, at São Paulo’s Sambadrome before heading to Mexico City on January 10 for the series’ 150th race. Subsequent rounds include stops in Miami, Jeddah, Madrid, Berlin, Monaco, Sanya, Shanghai, Tokyo, and London. Notably, China will host two events — in Sanya and Shanghai — highlighting the market’s growing importance to the all-electric racing series. The season finale will take place in London on August 15–16, 2026.

Formula E has also introduced several regulation changes aimed at streamlining the race format and enhancing inclusivity. The time limit for Group Qualifying will be reduced from 12 to 10 minutes, with the requirement to set a lap time within the first six minutes removed. Adjustments to duel timings are designed to shorten overall qualifying sessions to around an hour. In Pit Boost races, drivers will now need to activate attack mode only once per race, while in standard races, two activations will remain mandatory. Penalties for failing to complete attack mode have been removed.
Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo said Season 12 “marks another important evolution” for Formula E, highlighting the return to Sanya, expanded sporting regulations, and new cost cap exclusions for maternity and parental leave as steps toward “enhancing competition and reinforcing our commitment to inclusion and equality.”

Pre-season testing for Season 12 begins on October 27, 2025, concluding with an all-female test day on October 31.
