V-Green, the electric vehicle charging subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup, has inaugurated the largest EV fast-charging station in Hanoi. Located at the Minh Khai parking lot on Cau Dien street in Nam Tu Liem district, the facility is part of a broader expansion strategy aimed at improving access for EV drivers throughout the capital and beyond.
Strategically positioned near one of Hanoi’s key entry points, the new fast-charging station is equipped with 42 DC fast chargers, each rated at 120 kW and fitted with two CCS 2 connectors. The dual-gun setup enables simultaneous charging of up to 84 electric vehicles. All VinFast models—from the compact VF 3 to the flagship VF 9—are compatible with the station’s charging infrastructure.
The installation is part of a larger rollout announced earlier by VinFast, which targeted the deployment of 132 units of 120 kW DC chargers and five 60 kW units across Hanoi by June. According to the company, most chargers will be dual-output, allowing up to 262 EVs to charge concurrently across the city.
V-Green has rapidly expanded its footprint, building over 150,000 charging points nationwide by March 2025. The company aims to reach 500,000 points by 2028, as revealed by CEO Nguyen Thanh Duong in an interview with VnEconomy.
Internationally, V-Green signed a memorandum of understanding with Taiwan-based eTreego earlier this year to develop 100,000 charging portals across Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. In Indonesia alone, it plans to establish about 63,000 charging points. The company is also reportedly eyeing entry into the Indian market, where VinFast is preparing to launch its electric vehicle lineup.
