BYD’s updated Atto 3 all-electric crossover SUV, known domestically in China as the Yuan Plus, will feature a larger 74.88 kWh Blade (LFP) battery pack delivering a 650 km CLTC range, according to data released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The latest model marks a significant upgrade from the current version, which is offered with 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh battery options, providing 430 km and 510 km of range, respectively. The increased battery capacity is accompanied by a new 230 kW (308 hp) TZ200XYC permanent magnet motor, up 80 kW from the existing 150 kW (201 hp) unit, and a higher top speed of 180 km/h, compared with the previous 160 km/h.

Despite these performance enhancements, the vehicle’s dimensions remain unchanged at 4,455 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, and 1,615 mm high, with a 2,720 mm wheelbase. However, the added battery weight brings the curb mass to 1,880 kg, roughly 190–255 kg heavier than the outgoing model.
While pricing details for the new version have not been disclosed, the current Atto 3 sells between 111,800 and 141,800 yuan (around USD 15,700–19,900). The SUV continues to feature BYD’s “God’s Eye” C advanced driving assistance system, supported by 29 sensors, including five millimeter-wave radars, 12 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars.

Visually, the refreshed Atto 3 retains much of its current styling but introduces new double five-spoke gray alloy rims for a sportier look. The 18-inch wheels remain, with 215/55 and 235/50 tire options. The charging port has been relocated from the right front fender to the right rear, and other features include a standard panoramic sunroof and optional radar and camera systems on multiple sides.
With its upgraded motor and extended range, the new Atto 3 signals BYD’s continued push to strengthen its global position in the compact electric SUV segment.
