Uber has agreed to acquire Blacklane, a Berlin-based provider of chauffeur-driven black-car services, as the U.S. ride-hailing company expands its presence in the premium mobility segment.

The companies said the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close by the end of the year. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2011, Blacklane operates a global chauffeur platform offering pre-booked executive transport services in major cities across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North America and South America. The company has raised more than $100 million from investors including Sixt, Mercedes-Benz and ALFAHIM.

The acquisition follows Uber’s recent launch of its premium “Uber Elite” service, which combines chauffeur-driven rides with additional features such as airport meet-and-greet services, in-vehicle amenities and 24/7 customer support. The offering has initially been introduced in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with expansion planned to New York City.

By integrating Blacklane’s chauffeur network and operational footprint, Uber is expected to strengthen its ability to serve corporate and high-end customers, a segment that has seen growing demand as travel rebounds and users seek more tailored mobility options.

Uber has been diversifying beyond its core ride-hailing business in recent years, adding delivery, freight and premium transport services to its portfolio. The move to acquire Blacklane signals a continued shift toward higher-margin offerings within urban mobility.
