Trek, a leading bicycle manufacturer, is broadening its extensive range of e-bikes with the introduction of the Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type. In a departure from the carbon frame, the full-suspension e-bike maintains a reasonable weight of 20.25 kilograms.
The TQ HPR50, a lightweight mid-motor with a maximum torque of 50 Nm and a peak output of 300 watts, powers the bike. Despite the relatively modest 360 Wh battery capacity, there may be concerns about its endurance in demanding off-road conditions, especially on steep inclines. The e-bike features an LED display with Bluetooth and ANT+ support.

For suspension components, Trek has opted for Fox, with the Fox Rhythm 36 Float front suspension offering 150 millimeters of travel, complemented by a Fox Performance Float X for the rear. The 29-inch Bontrager Line Comp Tubeless Ready tires, each 2.5 inches wide, equip both the front and rear. Notably, the e-bike does not support wider tires.
The SRAM 12-speed wireless GX AXS transmission enhances the Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type, providing seamless gear shifts. SRAM also contributes the hydraulic disc brakes, featuring four brake pistons each, with DB 8 brakes gripping 200-millimeter brake discs.
Priced at USD 7399, the Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type is available for purchase directly from Trek, offering enthusiasts a new option in the evolving landscape of e-bikes.
